Pastor Dennis was born on March 16 in Springfield, Missouri where his parents were attending Central Bible College and helping to pastor their first church. Once their college was completed, Dennis’ parents pastored 2 churches in Michigan before receiving their missions’ appointment to Zaire, Africa.
As a Missionary Kid, Dennis spent 4 years in Africa and then 2 years in Belgium. After one year in boarding school, one year at Flushing High School, and two years at an international school in Brussels, Dennis graduated and returned to the U.S. where he attended Southeastern College in Lakeland, Florida. He graduated from college in 1996 with a degree in Math Education for Grades 6-12.
After graduation, Dennis returned to Michigan and began teaching in a small Christian school in Burton. He was there for 3 ½ years when an opportunity became available to teach in a charter school in Grand Blanc. It was during this time that God began to complete the call on Dennis’ life for full-time ministry. Dennis began attending Trinity School of Theology and fulfilling the necessary requirements to receive his credentialing with the Assemblies of God.
Out of a desire to do more for God and to pursue a longing in his heart to be involved in ministry, Dennis simply answered God’s call and then stood in absolute amazement as God began to open the doors of opportunity. In 2000, Dennis was asked to oversee the direction of Trinity School of Theology. He began his first semester as Director/Teacher in January of 2001. In July of 2001, Dennis was asked to consider the pastorate of New Life Assembly of God in Flushing. On August 5, 2001, Dennis ministered for the first time at New Life as their Senior Pastor.
Jennifer was born on August 7. She was raised in Grand Blanc, Michigan. When she was 15, she started attending Trinity Assembly of God with her mother. It was there that Jennifer was saved, baptized, and called to serve the Lord in full-time ministry. While attending Trinity, Jennifer was very active in ministry: serving as youth leader, Sunday School teacher, Missionettes leader, and Bible Quiz coach.
Jennifer graduated from Grand Blanc High School and attended Mott Community College for two years.
She worked a number of years at a Daycare Center in Grand Blanc before joining the secretarial staff at Trinity Assembly of God.
In August of 2001, Jennifer began her new role as Pastor’s wife. Since then she has thoroughly enjoyed serving the New Life family and ministering alongside her husband. Some of her most enjoyable memories of ministry so far have been: the Women’s Bible Studies, the Mother/Daughter Banquets, the Flushing Summer Feasts, being able to preach on Mother’s Day, and all the Baby Dedications that she’s been a part of. She loves the ministry and looks forward to continue to serve in whatever capacity God would desire and direct for her and Dennis.
Being a mom of 6 Jennifer stays very busy. However, she does manage to still find time for her hobby: shopping. When not at home or at the church, you more than likely will find Jennifer at Walmart… or Target… or the Dollar Store… or the Mall, etc.
Pastor Dennis and Jennifer were married on June 12, 1998.
They have since been blessed with 6 wonderful children: Denny “Our Compassionate Leader”, Emma ” Our Girly Girl”, Christian “Our Fearless Adventurer”, Sophia “Our Sassy Diva”, Savannah “Our Curious Monkey”, and Sabela “Our Little Momma”.
Dennis and Jennifer still don’t understand why God chose them for full time ministry and they’re still amazed at how He so graciously opened the doors of opportunity for them, but they are overwhelmed with gratitude for God’s call on their life and the wonderful ministries and people He has put in their care.
